  • Summary: No, it's not the "Good Morning America" weatherman singing, it's the sophomore album for the quartet of rockers from New York.

The quartet's cycle of jam band guitars and lamentable retrospectives os a smidge repetitious but there's comfort in the routine. [Fall 2008, p.97]
  2. They keep up that trend on their sophomore effort, a slightly more freewheeling affair that overcomes its lack of innovation through sheer youthful exuberance.
  3. But as clear as that opening switch to afterburners rings, much of Heavenly Bender sounds too-worn in at times, hooks still more familiar than barbed.
  4. Sam Champion’s sophomore album, Heavenly Bender, is a worthy rollick.
  5. Whenever the hooks dissipate, and the chops are sidelined, Sam Champion is an overindulgent snooze.
