I'm a huge suede fan so was really looking forward to this. In truth its ok but a bit of a let down really. Most of the songs on here are a bit too poppy and radio friendly for my tastes, I was hoping for something darker and more psychadelic (like the first 2 suede albums). The biggest gripe i have with this album is the lyrics, in places their utterly horrendous (see Imperfection). I'm a huge suede fan so was really looking forward to this. I just find my self unable to relate to what anderson seems to be singing about most of the time, if I wanna hear songs about a middle aged man's boring relationships I'll listen to simply red ! (who are crap by the way). Having said that, Refugees and Brave new century are up there with some of suede's best work. And then theres Apollo 13, which is quite possibly the pairs best ever track. 1. As a whole, 'Here Come The Tears' is a welcome collection of songs, even if the sentiment of it all does become a little saccharine-queasy after a while.
  2. Here Come The Tears sounds like the best album that Suede never made, full of romantic, smouldering pop songs with a soaring depth to them.
  3. It is raw, emotionally stirring, and the best album you’ll hear this year, by a mile.
