The sound and feel of this album take me back to the better parts of Land of Rape and Honey. There is a sense of originality that has felt lacking in the later releases. I was happily surprised by this disc since writing them off after Darkside of the Spoon. There are points, however, where Al, Paul and party seem to get suck in the same riff, as they have often done. Let alone the well-appreciated political intention of this magnificent album, it musically is a masterpiece of modern music in general.

It's [an album] whose tricks... we've heard done before. [Aug 2004, p.115]
  2. Houses of the Molé is signed, sealed, and delivered so powerfully that one can overlook the fact that it's basically Psalm 69 or The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste Part II.
  3. Leaning closer towards the fiercer end of the guitar spectrum, 'Molé' is a splurge of intense and angry songs, a reaction to the filthy Bush era.
