Not everything requires doe-eyed longing--"Fire" has enough drama to follow Revenge.

Michaelson is a savvy interpreter of her interior landscape in a way that should resonate with listeners.

When Human Again ditches the feel-good stuff and goes straight into drama-queen territory, though, it feels like we're finally getting to watch Michaelson come to grips with her broken heart, realizing that the only way to make things better is to fix the damn thing herself.

Her vocal abilities are as strong as ever.

The glossy production and soaring choruses make it as resolutely user-friendly as her previous albums. [Sep 2012, p.81]

The artificial sense that permeates as a result of the album's forced nature may be its largest detractor, and it is one damning flaw whose shadow Human Again can't seem to escape.

Ahh. A girl on fire! Mixing orchestra and pop in the most sentimental feeling produces a lot of head-banging yet emotional tracks. All the best tracks are saved for the last. 'Human Again' will make you realize your flaws are just part of being human. Collapse
