II is propelled by Segall's forceful energy. [Jan 2016, p.111]

II is another step forward for a band who were once a side project, but now stand firmly alone and away from the shade cast by others.

As the sprawling title-track brings the album to a close around the 67-minute mark, the heft of it all can feel overpowering, leaving you wishing for a more concentrated dose.

Though only mildly collaborative, II us just as thrilling as many of Segall's finest works. [No. 126, p.57]

If II proves anything, it’s that Fuzz remains a force to be reckoned with. Segall and co. have only honed their chops in the years since their debut, and it’s almost terrifying to project what will come in the next stage of their evolution.

If there’s a quibble with II, it’s that like most doubles, it would be more effective as a single disc.

All this studious box-ticking and attention-to-detail comes at a price, which is that II becomes more of a tribute to the music of yesteryear than, say, a work of art that’s relevant to the world surrounding it.

The second album of Fuzz creates an intensity in the powerful guitar sounds, exaggerated singing and rhythmic drumming. Different decades inThe second album of Fuzz creates an intensity in the powerful guitar sounds, exaggerated singing and rhythmic drumming. Different decades in the music are passing by, audible in the early metal, psychedelia and blues rock. Ty Segall is the master of musical expressions, though Moothart and Ubovich provide the heavy guitar rhythm of the band. Although the influences of other musicians are present, without difficulty the man providing their own musical contribution to it. Fuzz should therefore not go through life as a project, but as a power trio with the ability to revive the old times.
