Forget imperfect--this bold reinvention is anything but. [Oct 2010, p.117]
  2. As a whole, Imperfect Harmonies is its own animal. Tankian proves that he can pull off his grand ambitions in a maximalist approach that creates something new from the ruins of everything he destroyed to get here.
  3. Revolver

Removed from the usual metal trappings to ride Imperfect Harmonies' lofty, trippy soundscapes, Tankian's lyrics carry surprising poetic weight. [Sep/Oct 2010, p.87]

The splicing of classical instrumentation with electronica and jazz flourishes may alienate his old band's fans, but there is much to admire here. [Oct 2010, p.120]
  5. This album will not please everyone, but it is unique when compared to Tankian's work up to now, and that is what's best for everyone.

It's an easier to admire than to love. [18 Sep 2010, p.58]

    A 67? Seriously?
Imperfect Harmonies' grandiosity cannot be understated. This record is a masterpiece of emotion, pulsing with life at every level. Brilliant orchestration and limitless beauty abound. Serj's mannerisms can be a turn-off to some, but even for all its quirks Imperfect Harmonies is to great to be soiled. Nobody else is making albums like this these days.
