Gomez once appeared to have something interesting going on, but it's been a long time and they've gotten nowhere. Forgetable.

Pretty good album, but not as good as the first and second albums.

Gomez at their second best. gomez decide to go all techno alternative in this album with hints of their old school class in songs like Shot Shot and Ballad Of Nice & Easy

The aural palette is as wide as ever... but in the service of songs that might be sung on the morning train, under stars on a moonless night or even in the bath. [Apr 2002, p.116]

Gomez's clattering eclecticism has won endless plaudits, but now seems like a red herring when their exploratory approach remains fixated on Dixieland, Seventies soul and hip hop. [Apr 2002, p.100]
  3. Screw Wilco; In Our Gun is sounding very much like the Album of the Year.
