  • Summary: Less punk, more pop is the motto for the fourth album by the New Jersey emo band led by singer-songwriter Chris Conley.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 7 out of 8
  2. Negative: 0 out of 8
  1. An unexpectedly poppy collection of left-field melodies and twisty song structures that wrap around your brain like a head cold. [19 Sep 2003, p.86]
  2. "In Reverie' is the record that sees STD (*snigger*) grow into their rather obnoxiously large boots and writing the sort of songs that sound less like =emo=tional pap and more like the nerdy, malnourished American cousins of Ash's biggest hits.
  3. The band's poppiest and most upbeat and musical record yet.
  4. Chris Conley's metaphorical lyrics remain earnest enough, but because of studio trickery, his vocals sound annoyingly nasal. [Oct 2003, p.120]

This is one of my favorite albums ever, and in my opinion the best Saves the Day album. Listen to it a few times through if you don't like it at first. It will most likely grow on you. There isn't a bad song on this cd. Expand

anyone who thinks the lyrics are sub-par to swya...must not be listening too well. Chris's lyrics on In Reverie are a lot more mature than the stories of girlfriends, pickup lines, and teenage angst of swya. If you listen carefully enough and delve into the songs of In Reverie, you'll see/hear that the lyrics are more about the world going on around us, and importand problems that we face. Not saying that swya is a bad CD, i thought it is great to say the least. Just leaving a comment in hopes that you will all now re-listen to the CD and find the true meanings of the songs.... ps, it's not a CD to slit your wrists to. Expand

The lyrics and rythmns are somwhat repetitive and boring, but i would agree that the musicianship is better.

The first thing I thought when i bought this was "What The Hell?"..The songs all sound the same, his vocals are annoying, there is no energy behind their songs. Expand
