    After being introduced to Julia Holter through her 2015 release, I was hooked on her delightfully elegant sound and her dynamic singingAfter being introduced to Julia Holter through her 2015 release, I was hooked on her delightfully elegant sound and her dynamic singing ability that compliments such beautiful instrumentation. This album is a very good listen as Julia is placed in a live setting, having her to rely on the raw performance of her voice and the instruments rather than relying on lavish production in the studio. It is very satisfying to hear her sound stripped down and have her unafraid to take risks as she very easily steps out of her alluring and often spaciness into a monstrous and grand sound. There are moments on this album that don't really contribute anything to the live atmosphere and can be enjoyed to the same extent as heard on the albums which may be a bit underwhelming and doesn't make it a perfect live album. Overall this was an album I enjoyed listening to and had enough to offer to keep me interested throughout as I loved hearing her ability to work and intertwine a often improvised sounding backing band with her angelic voice.… Expand
