Anything done by Dave Grohl is bound to be Great, including In Your Honor. The intro IN YOUR HONOR is great, and it really Pumps you up for the rest of the album!

My favorite Foo Fighters since the Colour and the Shape. The acoustic CD is my favorite though, I can't seem to stop listening to it.

A few great tracks, more good ones. It's growing on me as I listen to it. But this album reeks of references of Kurt or Dave's (ex)wife. There is no fanatastic track (ex:Everlong).

absolutley brilliant, 1 of my fav foo's albums ever, the 1st cd is excellent classic foo fighters stuff, and the 2nd cd is brilliant 4 relaxin.

The 1st CD is just great.

First off, let me say that I had high expectations of this album. For months leading up to the release Dave Grohl has been touting that "In Your Honor" is the album he wants the Foos remembered by. I have to say that my expectations have been met. This is a great album by a great band. The first disc truly does rock as hard as Grohl has hyped and the second disc has some stunningly beautiful tunes. It's too early to tell if this is going to be my favorite Foo album.. but, I must say it's a real possibility. Current favorites on Disc 1 are No Way Back, DOA, Free Me, Resolve... Disc 2 - What If I Do?, Miracle, Razor... and call me a sissy, but I think Virginia Moon is a cool-ass, groovy tune, too.… Expand

Whatever Dave and Co. have used to sucker millions of people into thinking that this music is anything more than bland, tuneless, boring, pointless music, I will pay gladly to get the secret. My God people, what do you see in this? Grohl is incapable of writing a song. So what, then? He's a great guy, I'll buy all his records? Bleh.

A pretty decent album. For me the Foo's will never top The Colour And The Shape, but then again beating that album is no mean feat. This is more of a return to form over One By One, but after the first 4 songs or so the first disc just starts to sound the same and really...like filler. The second disc is good aswell, better than the first in my opinion but only because it's something new, altho' I think Grohl should've definately taken that disc as a solo project and worked more on producing Foo Fighter greats like that of which we saw on the self-titled album and TCATS.… Expand

Sounds great! I There isn't a bad song on these two records and I couldn't care less about that FF makes music that isn't exciting enough for critics. The songs are great - period! And there are 20 of them which is damn impressive to me anyway... So the guy played drumns in Nirvana. Ok, can we drop that now? Critics actually know nothing, that's why they're critics and not musicians.

Not since the 'Colour and the Shape' days have the Foos been on such fine form. Forget the last 2 albums, Grohl and co. act as if they nevert happened, and the musics better for it....can't get a 10 because there ain't no such thing as a perfect album, but this is tantalisingly close!

This is an excellent album. In fact, I actually went to the store and bought the real CD rather than buying from iTunes. It's worth it. The rock is fine, but the acoustic stuff will surprise you.

Wow this is total rock schlock. The screaming is a desperate plea for relevancy. I could only force myself to listen to the first album once, thank buddha I didn't buy it.

This album is so under-rated, sure the first disc sounds like the other albums but the fact is that its good. They are very good at what they do so why should it matter if it sounds the same? Also the second disc is very good, has credible lyrics and great sounds. I highly recommend this for any fan of the foos and for anyone who has never heard them before. Truly one to buy.

Powerful stuff!! This album is an incredible work that displays the nature of the band. Both disks are great but the rock cd is incredible. Best of You is one of the greatest songsthat just sticks in your head. This is one to get.

Of all the records released so far in 2005, my favorite to listen to is the electric half of In Your Honor. There is no filler- every song makes an impression and has something about it you will remember. As for the acoustic disc, I was slightly less impressed, but I'm sure it will grow on me in time. Either way, this is easily one of the Foo Fighter's best works, and they should not be criticized for being ambitious and trying something different, unlike 90 percent of acts out there today.… Expand

This is the first time I have ever seen this site and have to include my opinion on one of THE best albums brought out this year so far. I have always loved the Foo Fighters and with many bands I like, Im always scared of new albums especially where they have claimed to do something different. It is amazing. Right from the first song of which I play constantly all the way through. The acoustic I havent listened to as much to be honest as I do prefer the rock cd. I also prefer to hear Daves voice almost shouting as that is his best, sends shivers down my spine!! Absolutely incredible is all I have to say. Well done guys!!… Expand

I absolutely think this album is way above the rest of past Foo albums. Not only because they incorporated an awesome/passionate/brilliant acoustic album to the mix, but due to the sound they found and captured on the rock album. It's quite a step, or maybe many steps in the right direction. With the lineup of exquisite members they possess, it's hard not to expect nothing but the best. This is the best album of Foo Fighters. Every song is just so good. At first I didn't even want to listen to the acoustic CD because I have never liked the slower songs of Foo Fighters but then I tried it and now I can't decide which one is better, the rock or the acoustic CD. The rock CD begins greatly with In your Honor and the quality of the songs doesn't drop even once during the album. Deepest Blues Are Black is probably my favorite so far but as all the songs are really good, I really don't want to choose my own favorite song. The acoustic CD is at least as good a album as the rock album. I have really hard time when I have to choose which one to play first. Norah Jones sound really good and the drummer of Foo Fighters is suprisingly good at singing. It gives a little change for the never ending singing of Dave.… Expand

Some of the best of the foo, and yet, some of the worst!

The first gets you really going from the start and of course it keeps you going through the next song and then there hit "Best of you" which is a track that has really grown on me and as become one of my favorite songs by them. I'd say the whole first cd isn't too much new but will grow on you with time except songs like "resolve" and" the deepest blues are black" which brings back to the sound from there first album. Now the second cd which is the acoustic part is something else. Be prepared for really soft. But you will hear the foo fighters take there music to a new level, there are some songs that expand the foo fighters sound, with tracks like virgina moon, and just good guitar player on tracks like"razor" and "what if I do". Over all the cd will grow on you so give it a chance.… Expand

this album is good. the acoustic side is awesome but the rock side is something you listen to and think yeh they've done it before. not their best work. a lot of the b-sides they released should have made the final album cut cos they are a lot better than some of the really plain things that are on there

On the rock side of things, I would have to say that There Is Nothing Left To Lose and The Colour and The Shape are better. There are no particularly stand-out songs on this album; I love it anyway. This is definitely a good album. All of the Foo Fighters work has been good overall. The acoustic side is something else altogether, it is amazing. The Foos are definitely still one of music`s miracles. You would have expected Dave`s voice to have gone downhill, but still he excels at what he does.… Expand

In your honour is probably 1 of the best albums that the foo fighters have brought out. the rock disc i love because of the songs they have on it like "DOA" "iN YOUR HONOUR" AND "NO WAY BACK". The acoustic disc contains some of the best 1s i have heard ( i also own all the foos albums and acoustic songs) from tracks like "cold day in the sun" and many others. I dont think in your honour is the best album that they have done.… Expand

Great album, as ever from foo fighters!

Honestly did you all not listen to this? It is a fantastic album in every aspect. The rock (CD1)and ballads (CD2) are a great balance to suit your mood. I guess you would need an IQ of more than 20 to understand CD2 but the guitar playing is great, musically it is far more interesting than CD1. The words are even pretty deep and certainly helped me find hope during a dark period when I thought my friend was all but lost.… Expand

both CDs fucking suck

Sadly, the Foos have completely plummeted ever since the release of One by One. The second CD is actually pretty good, but their rock sound, which is found on the first CD is nothing like it used to be. It completely lacks memorable songs... Dave has stuck a cheesy dragged out yelling chorus in every song which doesn't suit his voice at all. I'll just cling to the first three releases and try to forget that the last two ever came out.… Expand

Good album, but the acoustic side is the best part.

The Loud Album is a great Foo Album. The Not-so-Loud Album has two or three Not-so-Good tracks. One downside I can think of is the lack of "fun" songs, like those found in both The Colour and the Shape AND There is Nothing Left to Lose, that by the way spawned fun music videos. 2nd and 3rd album remain their best offerings.

While most of the songs top everything from "One By One," it sounds like Dave is trying to hard to be epic. Please Foo Fighters: Go back to writing songs like 'Weenie Beenie' & 'For All The Cows.' We can only take so much of the personal crap. 2 STARS deducted for the copy protection b.s.

Well, here it is. The new double album by the Foo Fighters. I'm just gonna say it straight up: the rock disc is just not that sweet. It does not even come close to their debut. In fact, it doesn't even come close to their second best album, the Color and the Shape. Fans of their earlier work will be disappointed, while fans of One By One might think it's awesome. Fortunately, the soft disc is much stronger than I had expected. Tracks such as "Still," "On the Mend," and "Razor" are fantastic and more memorable than most of the rock songs. All in all, a good effort.......but still no "WEENIE BEENIE!!!!" AHHHH such a sweet song… Expand

Allthough this album lacks a potential Foo classic(i.e. Everlong, My Hero, Learn To Fly), it's the best Foo Fighters album ever. The loud album seems kind of overwhelming at first glance, but you'll quickly catch yourself humming the catchy tunes of DOA or The Last Song behind the steering wheel or at the office. The not so loud CD has some of the most beautiful Foo songs ever, such as Miracle and the haunting Razor. Somepeople might be a little dissapointed by the guest appearances of Norah Jones, Jon Paul Jones and Josh Homme because their roles might seem a little insignificant. If you give it a closer listen though, you'll definitely appreciate their contributions. This album will definitely satisfy Foo-fans(including me) around the world. If this is a prejudice of what their next 10 years are going to be like, we'll have nothing to worry about.… Expand

Excellent double album. I liked the 'rock' side more than the 'acoustic,' but they were both extremely well done. Standout tracks for me include In your Honour, DOA, No Way Back, Friend of a Friend, and Razor. I think that this would have been a better 15 track CD, but I can't complain about such great music. I should lower the score because copy protection to me seems like a needless hassle, but I'll leave the score as is.… Expand

This albums sounds great, although their first album was my favorite. "Best of You" is a great song and overall the album is worth buying.

Definitely worth picking up. All of the rock tracks are tres' solid, which make the acoustical stuff that much more noticeable. Friend of a Friend, by the way, first appeared on a little know pre-Foo demo called Pocketwatch. Look it up. JK

I hope the foo fighters eschew their inclinations to college rock and pursue the veins of their acoustic work. I found those tracks beautiful, especially Virginia Moon... like a little Beck, Tom Petty...

The "RAWK" CD is mostly forced and repetitive. Foo Fighters have made the "scream and bang the drums" thing work well in the past, but seem to have run out of ideas for their loud music. One or two memorable tracks on that CD. The acoustic disc is another story--startlingly brilliant, affecting and haunting--from the chilling, poignant opener "Still" to the equally-impressive closer "Razor". I kind of expected the acoustic to suck and the RAWK to kick ass, but the reverse is true. Worth buying for that second disc.… Expand

A very good album. a lot of work went into it. but I don't think the Foo's will ever beat they're first two albums. The first cd is solid, probably more punky and less melodic than their other heavy tracks on previous albums. there's a couple of great tracks, and a couple of average tracks on it. The 2nd cd is a lot more likeable, a very chilled out affair. I can't help thinking though that if they took the best songs from both cds and compacted it into a single album, it would have been strong. but I guess in the age of Ipods, the individual can cut the album into whichever way they like it.… Expand

In Your Honor is a solid album, I was just expecting more from all the hype. There are good songs on both cd's, but there are some very mediocre ones as well.

The first disc is the best hard rock album in years. Not a bad song in the bunch, with great hooks and melodies that will keep you going back for more. The acoustic disc is also solid, although you'll find yourself too hooked to the first disc to spin the acoustic too often. That being said, the acoustic album is unbelievable, showing that Dave Grohl is the most talented musician in hard rock period. No one even touches him, he can outsing almost anyone, is a great song writer, and can play the guitar or drums better than anyone around. Go out and buy this disc, you won't regret it!!!… Expand

Rock CD The track "In your honor" is the best starting song ever made in a foo fighters album. It's intense, full of emotion and it sets brillantly the tone for the rest of the CD. There are some boring tracks like "Resolve" and "End over End" but these are easily eclipsed by the awesome "No Way Back", the quick stunner "Hell" and the furious "Free me". Acoustic CD You have to be "in the mood" for this one. It's kinda sad, dreamy and sometimes haunting. Some songs are boring (What if i do, Another round), one just plain sucks (Cold day in the sun) but the rest is for the most part great and/or catchy (Miracle,Over and out, Virginia Moon, Still, Razor...).… Expand

Bland Bland Bland, the only thing that shines is Dave's voice.

The more you listen to Dave Ghrol's ever annoying vocals and flimmy lyrics, the more you're convinced he should just stick to playing drums.

Some of the reviews say that there's a great one disc album buried in these two discs, i disagree, maybe a good ep, maybe.

This album would be perfect if the first disk had more mid-tempo tracks apart from resolve. It can get a touch relentless but on the whole superb play louder and drowned sound can kiss my ass

The worst album of FF, nothing

"In Your Honor" is a definate contender for the best album of the year. It has the classic Foo Fighters sound on the Rock disc and something new on the acoustic album that was very well done by Dave both lirickly and musicly. Definatly check the new Foo album out, a must hear.

all the panty waste reviews from the so called pros try to get so fu@king deep inside peoples' heads. In the end they over analyze the shit of everything to the point they've forgotten what they heard in the first place. This is a great album - simple as that.

Overall good Album. The Accustic disk had some great songs. The rock disk had a mixture of OK, good, and great songs. "Resolve", and "Friend of a Friend" are awsome.

In Your Honour is some of the Foo Fighters best work, the rock disc is great and takes their sounds to a new level with hard hitting rock songs like "No Way Back" to the speaker blowing anthem-like tunes of "Hell" and "Free Me". While the acoustic disc shows Foo Fighters' soft side that we have all seen in songs like "Next Year" and "Aurora". All together it shows the versatility of Foo Fighters while not straying too far from the stuff that we've all grown to love, I can't wait to see what they do next.… Expand

3 great songs on this album all on the Rock part which simply cannot justify a double album. The Acoustic album is pathetically awful and this album was meant to define their careers if you want to hear a career defining album listen to American Idiot by Green Day. Really this album should be looked at as two seperate albums. The first disc is easily thier greatest, every song fires and really a 10/10 success. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the acoustic disc. None of the songs really stick in the mind for very long and, unusually for the Foos its all a bit...dull. So advice when buying this album: listen to the first disc constantly then just...throw away the second disc and act like it never existed… Expand

Honestly, this is one of the worst albums I have ever bought/heard. It's Dave Grohl trying to imitate the rest of the industry, and honestly it's just a waste of time. The first album tries to rock it out, and can only pull it off in the best of you, the rest is just simply horrible, and you are saying to yourself "how could this possibly get any worst" well pop in the acoustic cd and find out. I am a sucker for acoustic music, and I have never heard anything acoustic I hated... well until this cd. It's just absolutely boring, same rhythym through out the whole cd with very weak lyrics. I gave this cd a 3/10 simply because best of you is one of my favorite foo songs, but other then that single song, this album is to be completely avoided by self respecting music fans.… Expand

I have to agree with Tom B. I like their older albums but I'm disappointed with "In your hornor".

I'm one of the people who prefers the second CD (very good hangover music) to the first; parts of which are forgettable. If you could take the best songs from both sides and make one album out of them it would easily get a 9,5 out of 10 from me.

I Love This Album. I Didn't Love the Foo's till This Album. It Showed they Were Willing To Do Things To There Music And Experiment! It Makes Them Better Than Half These Other Bands and Groups Who Are topping The Charts! There Music's the Smae all the Time. the Foos Deffinetly Produced One Of There Greatest CD's.

The First CD holds a little touch of alternative-rock like QOTSA, pop melodies that are catchy but still quite impressive that remind me of the «Pinkerton effect» Weezer had back in the 90's, and of course a sparkle of grunge and punk from Nirvana's ex-drummer. The second CD is quite an extraordirnary surprise. It is far beyond anything I expected and nothing close to a «hey let's do the same thing over again with distortion and drums» experience. From a incredible strings delight with Razor to a charming bossa nova with Norah Jones on Virginia Moon, the cd completely blows away any barrier the Foo Fighters had raised in their past albums. Slightly their best work evert. Period.… Expand

The title says it all..In your honor",This is by far the will be remembered as there best release.Each song is so powerfull!!You won't be dissapointed!!!

This is what rock 'n roll is about. Simple, cathcy and loud. You can't invent the wheel in every song you write, because it has already been invented time and time again. And in my opinion Grohl is the best rock singer of the present. Excellent stuff. The ayatollah of rock 'n rollah.

In Your Honor is freaking awesome!

The rock disc is great with classics such as "Best of You", "The Last Song", "DOA", "Resolve", and "End Over End". The acoustic dist is also great with classics such as "What If I Do", "Friend of A Friend", "Miracle", "Another Round", and "Cold Day in The Sun".

Excellent album. Could have done without the 2nd disc. The first five tracks are a whirlwind tour de force that carry the weaker tracks.

While it has a number of enjoyable tracks the problem with In Your Honor is the way it's twenty tracks are arranged. Rather then having a blend of hard and soft It groups all the "loud" songs onto the same disc and the "quiet" tracks onto a separate disc. While it's an interesting idea it doesn't work so well in practice and the end result is that both discs lack any kind of flow, both end up sounding the same from beginning to end. Of the two the acoustic disc fares better then the rock when listened to on it's own. About half the tracks feel unnecessary and if they had blended the best tracks from both discs we would have had a great album with a half decent b-sides release to boot.… Expand

Half of the songs are great and the other half feels filler and a bit boring. A really ambitious project and I applaud them for that.

A double album was always going to be an ambitious project from a band who generally have 2 types of songs - rockalongs and the occasional acoustic love song. Although there are some shakey moments, overall it's a success. Some of their best tracks are on this and the acoustic disc has some excellent tracks on it.
