What it will do is fill your ears, mind and spirit with a little shaft of sunlight that causes you to delight in the moment and experience.

It all adds up to a record for those who want thrills but don't want them dumb.

A charmingly lush and wistful affair which proves that their unexpected Ivor Novello nominations were no fluke.

Into The Murky Water allows some of the band's earnest demeanour to shine through, but ultimately it lacks the spark of its predecessor and it's difficult to love.

Nobody's pretending this lot balance on the razor-sharp blade of the cutting edge. Even so, their orchestral whimsy presses the 'lovely, bordering on twee' button.

It's an album inspired by Camus that's never less than intense. It;s also overwrought, as the taciturn voice and glum lyrics wrestle for space with manically busy strings and an unfortunate folk feel. [Jun 2011, p.87]
  7. It's charming enough, but it's as well mannered as a picnic with Cath Kidston accoutrements.
