While the lyrics of this album could be seen as somewhat "campy", the arrangement, in concert with Lang's superb phrasing and execution, make this album well worth listening to. Lang has an incredible voice, and it is showcased here. The album gives the impression that Lang's performance was not a "personal best" for her, but because she is so talented, Invinvible Summer gets away with it. Expand

  1. The music is often quick-paced fluff with the retro exactness, and the soul, of a Pottery Barn sofa. But for the most part, lang's lighter musical tack encourages her to retire the galloping self-regard that can cancel the attractiveness of her voice.

Innovative and gorgeous, equally recalling Dionne Warwick-era Bacharach and contemporary ambient pop.
  3. If there is a fault to this album, it is that it is too smooth; while the listener is surfing these waves of happiness and cushiony pop, an occasional desire for edges and bones surfaces.
