This elegant, elegiac disc is filled with emotionally direct, expressive songs confronting loss and mortality.

A beautiful, rather brave album, and by far her best. [Jul 2013, p.83]

She sings calmly from the heart, flowing beautifully, her simplicity enhanced by his [producer Howe Gelb] delicate downmix touches. [Jul 2013, p.94]

For all of its immediate sonic beauty, however, IE//CM’s slow, languid reveal requires patience and time to get acclimated.

There's a soft Americana influence here, and in a way it's reminiscent of early Big Star. [Aug-Sep 2013, p.100]

Invisible Enemy // Crescent Moon is a brave attempt from its creator to change direction, but ultimately KT Tunstall’s limitations are laid bare on a record that meanders pleasantly without ever leaving a lasting impression.

The track "Made of Glass" is a masterpiece. Literally everyone that I have asked (sometimes forced) to listen to the track finds it very appealing and comforting. The set is also very balanced musically speaking. There's rock, folk, piano, ballad, power, just everything in this magnificent release. Expand

The record is very folky and not as pop as some of the other songs I've heard from her in the past. Its very well recorded and highlights her excellent voice. There are a number of really good songs spread among several others which drift along without doing much and to be honest I was far more impressed with her live performance on Jools Holland than the record. Still, its well worth checking out if your into female vocalists and folk with a bit of a twist. Expand
