There's substance to 'Long Sad Goodbye's accusing lament for his late father and Vietnam's denunciation of the Iraq war, but Kravitz generally limits himself to muscular yet uninspired multi-instrumental expertise and sloppy-thinking hippitude. [Mar 2008, p.114]
AmandaH.Apr 3, 2008Lenny Kravitz knows how to use his soul.
JohnW.Feb 11, 2008Best Lenny album since Are You Gonna Go My Way!
TomH.Apr 10, 2008Better than last album, equal to Lenny, nothing new to the table and not a classic album, but solid nonetheless.
DanK.Feb 12, 2008Sometimes Lenny does a collage of other band's riffs, in addition to repeating himself too. We must realize his originality is next to zero, if other bands like Racounteurs or The Black Keys are looking at the past with very fresh and innovative eyes. And if you listen to this album and the prevoius one, you will see the same album with the same chords and vibe. I don't wanna talk about the "beatles wrong photocopy" of some tracks like "back in vietnam" (do you remember back in the ussr?) or the lennon-like feeling of some other tracks. Buy Revolver or the White album by Beatles or a Kins album instead.… Expand
