  1. Green's past albums have all been enjoyable affairs. This one, however, is a masterpiece.
  2. If this was any more showbiz it’d be performed on ice.

Green manages to charm even as he annoys. [Aug 2006, p.108]
  4. "Jacket Full Of Danger" thinks it's funny but isn't - it's often pathetic.
  5. It’s pleasantly like listening to a lost Bobby Darin or Andy Williams recording session where they took the wrong medication for shits and giggles.
  6. Mojo

    Odd, enjoyable. [Jun 2006, p.103]
  7. New Musical Express (NME)
    60
    A twisted, mucky treat. [15 Apr 2006, p.35]
  8. The aggressively banal orchestral arrangements and cornball baritone make Jacket Full of Danger something like a rakish Scott Walker for the post-Beck era.
  9. Come and pay homage to the new Lounge Lizard King.
  10. At the same time that Green has perfected the easy-listening, lazy-day ballad on Jacket Full of Danger, he’s also taken the theatrical, showbiz style of Gemstones to the next level.
  11. Musically and melodically, this is the best work Green has ever done (even counting The Moldy Peaches -- which isn't to suggest for a second that Jacket is the superior record). Lyrically, though, it's the same old Adam Green bullshit.
  12. Q Magazine

Green is a one-man game of musical consequences, mismatched but endlessly fascinating. [May 2006, p.124]
  13. Jacket Full of Danger is an unfocused album that lets his own kitschy gags grab him by the ankles.
  14. It's just annoying to listen to.
  15. Uncut

Blessed with a baritone unmatched in modern pop, he delivers 15 exquisite ditties. [May 2006, p.108]
