A near flaw-less album. Kill The Moonlight has amazing tracks. Each track has it's own significant sound that gets better with each listen. Britt Daniel has a great voice and it sounds a lot more different than any other Spoon album. The tracks are catchy and some of the synth beats are wonderful. All In All, Kill The Moonlight is an impeccable album. A

Simple. Spacious. Airy. Light. These adjectives were some of many used by fans and critics alike to describe Spoon's 2002 magnum opus "Kill the Moonlight," yet the record proves upon closer examination to be a good bit more than meets the eye. 10/10

Undeniable songcraft. The fact that they could make something with the emotional heft of 'Paper Tiger' using such a sparse arrangement is a testament to Spoon's immense talent. Similarly, the other songs on this album prove the old adage 'less is more' to be completely true.

I have just bought this - it could be a 10 in no time at all! How can something so minimalist and strutting contain so much feeling and spirit? This latest outburst of rock creativity (strokes, stripes etc) finds its new peak - may it roll on.

Fans of "Series of Sneaks" could possibly be put off by this disc, as many were in "Girls Can Tell." But they won't. Everything Spoon stands for wretches out of this record in full, bare, stank-filled glory. God bless you, Britt Daniels. Call me.

Ha! Rolling Stone and Spin panned this album. Lesson be learned kiddies, those mags are trash.

I cant agreeeeee with Entertainment Weekly that ''Could be the Strokes in 10 years--if they work hard.'', absolute rubish they saying!!As you can see bands quality doesn't slope down at all, contrary to The Strokes, yes they're not bad post-punk group, but it doesn't look like to me very much that, they are able to repeat their success with Is This It.?. In fact it is getting worse with every next album.....thats true, objectively!!Next time you better think twice before you start comparing classic rock band with repetitive post-punk average...... Spoon finally realize the full potential of their Elvis Costelloesque roots with Kill the Moonlight. Fans of Girls Can Tell should run, not walk to pick this album up.

Spare and minimal, yet almost impossibly warm, with solid songwriting and perfect arrangements. Britt Daniel is one of the great all-time rock vocalists.

Brilliant follow-up to last year's magnificent 'Girls Can Tell.' Great collection of toe-tappers and ballads. 2002 is shaping up to be a great year in music.

One of the most elemental and sparse records out there. And what a voice on Daniel. Not post-punk, just plain old rock and roll.

Whoever said that they'd take Bright Eyes over Spoon needs to listen to this album a little more, the two sound absolutely nothing to do with each other (except for the Home EP, and them joining Saddle Creek to release an EP[s?]) musically. Spoon is probably one of the best bands around today. The music is simple but deep, and actually gets better the more you listen to it. My favorite song would have to be The Way We Get By, but almost every other song is good too.

One of the best pop rock records of the past decade. This was a huge turning point for Spoon commercially and creatively. Kill The Moonlight was Spoon's Kid A.

Singer-songwriter Britt Daniel's gift for obtuse yet engaging melody is now where it ought to be: up front. [#9, p.155]
  2. Meticulously choppy and frequently free of inherent genre boundaries, it's an askew masterpiece of brains, brawn, heart, and soul.

Spoon's secret is that this tension is never quite released, the martial beat never breaks down, full rock music never quite kicks in. [Oct 2002, p.120]
