  1. They are trying very hard to be a specific thing, realize that they can't quite take it all the way, and add the occasional coating of camp in order to look less silly.
  2. Clearly, these boys can't grasp the concept of "say when."
  3. Uncut

This mass-market music deserves more than a minority audience. [Feb 2006, p.75]

There's a seductive, deliberately synthesized feel that's part Scissor Sisters, part Hall & Oates. [Feb 2006, p.103]
  5. New Musical Express (NME)

This album is covered from head to toe in a cuticle of stylish crap. Underneath, fortunately, there are several redeeming gems. [21 Jan 2006, p.35]
  6. More like faithful reiterations of soul cliches than anything fresh or interesting, nearly every track will remind you of someone else.
  7. If you've been pining for a fresh take on the libidinous funk of yesteryear, or looking to go back to prurient, carefree days of teenage infatuation, the National Trust is for you, ooo, ooo, yeahhhhhhh.
  8. A majority of the tracks lack in everything but production value.
  9. A smart, exuberant and very real record, whose reach has nothing to do with "authenticity".
  10. Urb

The perfect record to spice up your closet. If you're not coming out, you might as well have some sexy fun while you're in there. [Mar 2006, p.116]
