WhoMadeWho have been accomplished, even inspired, in the past, but here they emerge on a whole new level, displaying a subtle command of tension and release and an assured, seamless blending of rock and electronics, suffused with unfeigned emotionalism, which calls to mind the confidence and mastery of marquee acts like LCD Soundsystem and Radiohead.
  2. May 11, 2011

Like much of the dark electronic pop that's come before WhoMadeWho's latest, the drive behind the music is the key to success.

More dancefloor domination beckons for the Danish trio--and these tracks should once again work a treat live. Let's just hope they don't leave it too long.

Some of the more routine synth-pop cuts lack weight, but the distant echoes of A-Ha's "The Living Daylights" buried within "Musketeer" are wholly endearing. [Jul 2011, p.103]

  1. This is one amazing album. I currently listen to Wild Beasts (smother), Panda Bear (Tomboy), The Antlers (Hospice and Burst Apart) and Destroyer (Kaputt) ....all of which are amazing albums...but i find myself coming back and back to listening to Knee Deep. With each listen it seems to reveal even more levels. In my top 5 of this year so far Collapse
