The beauty of the return to the past. When the decade of the 60 going down, Jim Morrison threw his last screams on this awesome album. The reissue offers his eternal voice on this bonus tracks; listen is to appreciate the enduring influence of the lizard king.

Few artists have ever come close to the lyrical genius that was Jim Morrison. Don't listen to this album on your first play, instead allow your ears to absorb the sounds. On the second play listen to the album. Then you can truly appreciate what Morrison brought to his music.

As for the original album it's of course a classic. Blusey to the bone but still sophisticated, recorded in their office, it's a proof that great music never is about technique. This is a last fabulous parade from one of the best bands ever and it can make one sleepless wonder about what would have come next if Jim still was alive.

The extra-CD is a very interesting ear-dropping at The Doors rehearsing and forming the material. An adventure especially for us who loved "L.A.Woman" since 1971.

This is a gem of an anniversary re-issue double album with rare never before heard alternate studio takes on famous tracks with Jim Morrison heard playfully engaging the band before each song.

My all-time favorite rock album. I'm a die-hard Doors fan and this one, is my favorite album from them. Loaded with blues & psychedelic rock tracks such as "LA Woman", "Love Her Madly", "Riders On The Storm", "Been Down So Long" and more awesome songs, that will take you back to the good old days of early 1970s Los Angeles. 10/10 One of the greatest rock albums in the history of rockMy all-time favorite rock album. Bottom line: whether you're a casual fan or a more obsessive one, this is the definitive issue of L.A. Woman.

For diehards, these takes [on the second disc] have an attractive live-in-the-studio-run-through feel, complete with informal chat and occasional sloppy edges. [Feb 2012, p.108]
