  1. Switches justify their cockiness with talent, excelling in the feisty hooks and high-pitched oo-oo-oos that hark back to the glam era at its best.
  2. One of the better albums of 2008 without question.
  3. Lay Down the Law (released in 2007 as Heart Turned to D.E.A.D. in the UK) is a non-stop glam-pop juggernaut, with nary a musical misstep.
  4. 70
The quartet throws itself into these vintage gestures with so much verve and dumb-fun exuberance that the songs, even with their simplistic, catchphrase lyrics, are hard to resist.
  5. There are some particularly heady flavours here to be sure, some blended well, others not.
  6. Under The Radar
    40
Like the Killers, the Vines, The Bravery or countless other bands before them, Switches have absolutely nothing original to say. [Spring 2008, p.87]
  7. They’ve crafted a record that feels more like imitation than originality.
