  1. Unlike its predecessor, there isn't much to dig into here; what you hear upon that first listen is exactly what you get.
  2. This is music precision-built for vast stadiums. [Aug 2006, p.112]
  3. Let Love In burns with the same slightly cheesy Springsteenian passion as the Dolls' multiplatinum records. [4 May 2006, p.59]
  4. It would enjoyably help to while away an hour's driving, but those seeking a little more punch will have to look elsewhere.
  5. Although a few of the cuts on Let Love In sound somewhat formulaic, the pop sheen mostly agrees with Rzeznik's lived-in voice and cloaked lyrics.
  6. Their punk roots are virtually nowhere to be found; now it's all overblown power chords, tambourines, and lovelorn lyrics. [28 Apr 2006, p.135]
  7. Has its moments, but it comes across as a baby step forward.

Only one song exhibits any nuance or creativity--a cover of Supertramp's 1977 lark "Give a Little Bit." [May 2006, p.106]

Taking a look back at previous Goo Goo Dolls albums to compare this one is a mistake.they've made their most cotemporary turn on this album.Takac's songs will probably be passed more than usual but Rezezniks's lyrics on this album have made a bigger melodic leap all together."Without You Here" and "We'll be Here(When You're Gone)"were my first to tracks i listend to based on the names of the songs. Then going back to track one,i followed through the entire album."Listen"and "Strange Love"are oddly scattered but,in my opinion are solid enough.Supertramp cover "Give A Little Bit"gets props for modernizing a classic with 100% heart, while "Better Days", and the title track will probably get listeners to take a look at themselves. One track made me go eh to,the closer "Become".It doesn't sound like Goo Goo Dolls to me but all together,it was efficient. though not as enjoyable as 2002's "Gutterflower","Let Love In"was a quick test run and purchase for me.Great album.
