i've heard the goo goo dolls from their superstar carwash album to gutterflower.. i agree to the other comments that they firgot how to play alternative music. let love in album is very far from their first cd's.. maybe they have to go back to their old scholl music.

definitely a contender for gutterflower but nowhere near the excellence of dizzy up the girl! I love all of the songs on this album especially "let love in" my brothers hav threatened to break it though cause i've been listenin 2 it too much! can i help it if i lost my headphones?

Lyrically this album is uncreative and repeative. Seems to me the person or persons who wrote these lyrics should spend some time with a good therapist in an effort to gain some insight on how to resolve their issues concerning love and relationships. Then maybe they would really be able to let love in.

Disappointed to find such a 'quiet' album... none of the usual Big Machine or Flattop brilliance. The trademark hooks are still there and the title track has it's moments... but little more. I blame Glen Ballard- what were they thinking?

good solid songs and lyrics. musically very tight. however, not a CD you'd crank up...not a rock CD at all. Personally...I think Goo Goo Dolls are best when they're turning up the guitar and rocking. Also...too many guitars at the live show...Resnick seems uncomfortable without a guitar in his hand...but then that makes 3. Get back to rock.

I have been a Goos fan for blimmin aages (ie)before Iris and I realise their work has varied from the start. I think 'Let Love In' is amazing and this is why. I am impressed that a band of their age and length in the industry can still write and compose songs as well as they do. I saw them live about a week ago and I was in awe! Johnny has the same energy he had 10 years ago. With that said, I am a little disappointed to see the band re-using old material such as Give a Little Bit and Better Days on an album that took a long time to release. These are songs that have been featured in various releases/dvds as special/extra features and been heard a 100times before. I do love the songs though so theres no denying that. Another criticism I'd add is that Robby Takac's vocals aren't as strong as Rzeznik's. I wouldn't say he has a poor voice, but his style of song is not very GooGoo Dolls like and kinda high school punk sounding. Also his live vocals weren't great -in fact I could barely hear him and so I suggest he remains a bassist/co song writer than take centre stage. its better that way. I do like 'Listen' though and it pulls it off well. I think this is a great, laid back, melodic album displaying nostalgic, meaningful songwriting with some traditional rock and roll. The Goo Goo Dolls are here to stay!… Expand

This album is pleasant soft rock. That alone is a reason for buying it - especially for Goo Goo Dolls fans such as I. It's a nice alternative to the James Blunts and Daniel Powters out there. But Let Love In is pretty much stripped of the Goo Goo Dolls' signature power pop. I expected more from this album.

Horrible. I've been a GGD fan for years and the magazine reviews above are right on. It's as if they forgot how to play rock music. They're producer should be fired.

I love the cd. I think their great. Yes it is softer but there is some powerful lyrics in the songs. I recently saw them in concert and they still have it and can rock. the soft ness of this latest cd just shows how much they have grown. keep up the great work. I love the Goos!

John Rzeznik as we know, or at least myself, know that he is a lyrcial genius. What he feels, what he has been through, what he expresses, is what we have all been through. The Goo Goo Dolls are growing up, so yeah there music today is much different that 20 years ago, but it sill has that shine. Let Love In, this album is fantastic, smart, and compelling. This is just my opinion, i just wanted to speak out and if you guys don't like the rating, then tough shit. haha, kidding...… Expand

I love this cd. The Goo Goo dolls are an awesome band.

This album is bad...even by the Goo Goo Doll's standards. Instead of even trying to woo the musical godess, they just sat there and masturbated out some music. Absolutely dissapointed in it.

If you like this cd, you never liked the GGD's. One size fits all approach that is flat overproduced and lazy. I love songs like NAME, Black Ballon, and Iris, so its not a ballad issue. i think the album is good, its got some really good tracks, and i feel the lyrics are up to a quality standpoint, but are there any awesome tracks like naked, bullet proof, or long way down? no, thats why its an 8

it was pretty good, but it felt like most songs were missing that punch that drives most of their other records to the sucess they clearly didn't get on this one. most of the songs had powerful lyrics, but the actual music didn't seem to fit. too many ballads and not enough rock, which is what most goo fans were looking for

The Goo's rock!! I love the song Let love in. I really like a lot of the lyrics on this album. I love Robby's song Listen. It's one of my favorites. Although the songs seem slower than their previous...after seeing them rock out live in concert, it gives a whole new perspective on their songs.

I haven't a bad word to say about this cd I think as always..with every Goo cd...they grow...we all love the punk influence of their past, and I dont think for a second that has left them however it is a new day and their not little boys.. atleast they havent given us 12 cds that are all mimicking the one prior...like so many bands and cds out there right now ..love the lyrics...love this band forevermore!… Expand

I've read all of the comments below and I would just like to clarify that John Rzeznik is now 40 years old. This is his eighth studio album, and clearly the most soft and easy of all of them. However, I think it's a proper progression of Johnny's attitudes towards music and life... if you listen to all of the albums he has written in order of their release, you'll find that they "mature" up and progressively get a bit softer because, well, let's face it, he's evolving as a songwriter. Although a little too soft. You won't find 'Naked' or 'January Friend' hidden in the tracks. Let Love In is ultimately a winner. Rzezniks sad but hopeful themes captivate you, even if it feels a little too clean. Hell, he could only write one Name.

This is by far the Goo Good Dolls best cd best CD.

Love this album, ive heard their songs in the past but this is the first album of theirs that ive purchased. The whole cd is just great! Definatly 2 thumbs up!

I can't believe this is from the same band that brought us the immense Superstar Carwash & Boy Named Goo - it's truely awful, full of lazy overblown, soft rock cop outs, like they have taken Iris and Name and put them in a blender - Robby Takac must be really cheesed off that his band have sunk so low - and by the way, the GGD's are my fav band ever, so this album hurts.

To say an album sucked because it wasn't as good other albums is obsured. The band is growing up. And heaven- forbid they write about love, heaven forbid they slow it down. Decent album, some powerful lyrics are woven through out this cd: "you were no angel, and i was no sin" ::goosebumps:: Stay With You had some power to it, showing us they could still kick it if they wanted too. If they wanted to make an album like they have in the past, they easily could of. if you say this album sucks because it is not as powerful as their old stuff i dont think you've ever been a GGD fan. This album wont get as much play as their older cd's but it still has its strong points and it still has alot to say, nice work guys. not bad for getting back on the horse!! love it!!!… Expand
