Feb 13, 2017Deadweight is an ominous-sounding opener sugared by some lovely falsetto, while the lilting, reggae-tinged Won’t Follow deals with loss but ends with Gallab sweetly crooning “I feel new”. A compelling reminder of the uplifting power of music.
-
Feb 10, 2017This is an urgent, enormously enjoyable LP.
-
Feb 9, 2017Sinkane has nowhere near the fame he deserves; may this be the album that gives you life.
-
Feb 10, 2017Life & Livin’ It is a powerful reminder that basic truths, basic rights, are always the most important.
-
Feb 9, 2017Life & Livin’ It signs off with a stiff jab to the nose, hinting at what could be if Sinkane’s next journey takes them deeper into the mud.
-
Feb 14, 2017Born in the UK, based Stateside and of Sudanese descent, Sinkane has been able to draw his worldly experiences into something that's at once relatable, abstract and pertinent.
-
Feb 9, 2017His influences are worn lightly, the melodies remain inventive, and there is a real elegance to Sinkane's music. Hopefully next time he'll get back in the driver's seat.
