    (A Manics fan writes...) : Every band has to evolve and change - to fail to do so results in being bogged down in mediocrity and becoming a one trick pony such as Nickleback, Coldplay or No Doubt. But the Manics have evolved into something without urgency, without fire in the belly and without brazenous balls. This is not what I fell in love with and my disappointment in this album feels (A Manics fan writes...) : Every band has to evolve and change - to fail to do so results in being bogged down in mediocrity and becoming a one trick pony such as Nickleback, Coldplay or No Doubt. But the Manics have evolved into something without urgency, without fire in the belly and without brazenous balls. This is not what I fell in love with and my disappointment in this album feels as hollowing as breaking up with a boyfriend. Lifeblood is very pleasant - but pleasant isn't what has had me hooked into the Manics for all these years. Thanks for the trip, guys. It's been a blast!… Collapse

    A nice album, but not much more. Each and every track is nice, with hygienic and pretty melodies that seem to clean your ears. There are no big highlights but it is worth getting this album.

    Manic Street Preachers is one of my favourite bands but i'm afraid Lifeblood have literally killed their further career as it was definetly a wrong move made at the time when they have already fallen out of favour with the British public music press. It seems they tried to recreate the beauty of "This is My Truth..." but the album sounds forced and ...m-m...lifeless. It's not that they have betrayed themselves - it's easy to notice that their music and approach to their own songs have changed after Richey Edwards' disappearance. I guess the Manics' have become less confident about what they are doing - and their are not even trying to pretend that they are the same - i think that's why they have become hated so much.… Expand

    This is an album that can (and I think will) transcend musical taste and age range... 'Lifeblood' may well live forever as one of the best commercial albums of the bands career.
