Most of Little Hells is musically quite simple, giving the sense that whatever Nadler has to say rests entirely in her sound, not in the songs themselves
-
Here she’s hacked away the art school whimsy, tossed out the crystals and burned the floaty headscarfs, focussing her talents into ten razor sharp songs, some subtle, some vicious.
-
Little Hells, for all its melancholy, gives Nadler’s fans another reason to celebrate; any continuation of the momentum birthed with Songs III is a happy thing, indeed.
-
Nadler does what she does so very well. Even on familiar territory, like the dreamy, shoegazey closer Mistress, she's in sublime, beautiful form.
-
Even through all its missteps (tracks like “Loner”; “Little Hells”; and “Brittle, Crushed, and Torn"), Little Hells proves just how appealing the rough diamond can be.
-
Little Hells still works from start to finish, but if that's the case, then it's pretty good for process output.

Q MagazineSo convincing does the Boston-based siren inhabit this cut-off, gothic world that it's hard not to be sucked inside the darkly compelling likes of 'River Of Dirt.' [Apr 2009, p.107]
-
MojoAs with previous album "Songs III," this us an enchanting record. [Apr 2009, p.109]
