May 26, 20127Although the title track "Locked Down" and "Revolution" or "Getaway" make the Dr. John's album - created in collaboration with Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys - as a funky interesting proposition, however this effigy went spoled through theseen for ex. on "Big Shot" inability to exploit the potential of the track. Nevertheless, the album still is worth attention.

Apr 5, 20129Put it into Dylan's song words: "I'm raving about how I'm loving his sound" Absolutely terrific, unique sound. Best album of year so far in my opinion.

Apr 3, 201210This album is perfect! I great balance of funk, boogie, and rock. And it is produced by the almighty Dan Auerbach (lead singer of the Black Keys) and he does a fantastic job. Dr. John is an underrated legend, and if you have any respect for music whatsoever, you will check out this album, which is probably the best of the year so far.

Jun 28, 201280Locked Down is the result of a synergy between musicians of different generations – both have something to bring to the party, and the combination is compelling. It is an album of rare energy, heat, sweat and motion, and a salutary lesson to all that age need not diminish one's mojo.

May 7, 2012100With one or two exceptions, this CD never lets up, epitomizing his biz-wise mastery of rhumba boogie and the second line. The two pop hits lead. The gris-gris tracks are songs not shtick.

Apr 26, 201273People shouldn't expect a "completely Dr. John" record, but there is a lot to enjoy from the simplicity and overall throwback feel to Locked Down that provides a positive and hopeful experience.
