Sure, Kool Keith lets some profoundly dumb lyrics loose on Love and Danger, but they all seem in service of some improvisational rope-a-dope that ultimately finds him landing a knockout punch.

Love & Danger leaves a confusing stain on the veteran's legacy and does little to strengthen the cause of loyalists with a vested interest in his haphazard easily misunderstood art.

Kool Keith delivers one of his most accomplished album ever. Eighteen solo album under his belt, Kool Keith is still on top of his game. TheKool Keith delivers one of his most accomplished album ever. Eighteen solo album under his belt, Kool Keith is still on top of his game. The beats are tight, the flow is undeniable cool, the lyrics are twisted as ever.Shooting bars at modern hip-hop like Stallone would shoot bullets at his enemy, Keith raises the bar of his lyrical abilities in term of meaning full and meaning less. The guy can rap about anything real and combine it in a fictional science fiction fantasy style that made his trade mark. This album contains less explicit sex and less gore themes then most his previous releases. but it doesn't matter because Kool Keith has been able to craft one of the best (if not THE best) rap album of 2012. Songs like New York, Miami, The Game is Free are putting fake rap under the spotlight and glorifying underground rap mentality in a grand finale song called Goodbye Rap... Goodbye Rap, Hello Kool Keith !! Great !! Full Review »
