Love The Future - Chester French
Love The Future Image
  • Summary: The duo of D.A. Wallach and Max Drummey release their debut album on Pharrell Williams' label after a bidding war by Kanye West's and Jermaine Dupri's own labels.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 4 out of 11
  2. Negative: 3 out of 11
  1. But given the infectiously goofy tunes on Love the Future--the Beastie Boys covering the Beach Boys?--it might not be long till Wallach's girl trouble is real.
  2. Too intelligent and well-crafted to dismiss but too disjointed and self-indulgent to really embrace, Love the Future is equally frustrating and promising.
  3. Though there's a lot to dislike, there's also the bones of something interesting here. If only they'd stuck with making more numbers like the enticing Adam Green-ish gypsy pop of 'Neal', they might just have won us over.
