    I've been a huge solo-Coxon fan ever since his first album in 1998, and I'm truly disappointed with this new opus. It seems like he's mowing more and more towards commercial sloppy rock, nothing near the moving noisy little songs he used to write. The problem may be that Coxon's art only blooms in a very confined context: lofi production, small distribution, which was I've been a huge solo-Coxon fan ever since his first album in 1998, and I'm truly disappointed with this new opus. The problem may be that Coxon's art only blooms in a very confined context: lofi production, small distribution, which was the case as long as he was part of Blur and when his solo works were only sideprojects. Now he's gained more freedom, he's trying to develop into a more "complete" artist, which is to me a total scuttling of his craft. Regretably, no solution to that, as the geezer won't go back to Blur again, and would he, he wouldn't go back to pretensionless lofi records. Conclusion: instead of this, go buy "Crow Sit On Blood Tree": you'll acknowledge his talent in a much better way and you'll make your ears a lot more happier. Expand
