    A message to anyone looking for conventional, dance-heavy, techno - this is not that. In fact, the entire album thrives in it's off-putting, static-drenched, noisy screeches. Throughout the entire listening experience I was waiting for some relief from the never-ending ear bashing and only found it in slight, bittersweet doses. This is a dark, loud, almost wholly unenjoyable listen. AllA message to anyone looking for conventional, dance-heavy, techno - this is not that. This is a dark, loud, almost wholly unenjoyable listen. All that being said, 'Man with Potential' is an unforgettable original release. It is so abstract and experimental that it will take some really, really, open minded listeners to be able to dig into Pete Swanson's style and take something from the album other than 'Did I really just spend my last hour listening to sputtering machinery?'. I particularly enjoyed how original and inspired the whole thing felt, but that doesn't mean that most people will. In fact, it's a waste of time in any other respect.… Expand

    Pete Swanson isn't "going" anywhere but his own scorched-earth path. If you can withstand the heat, it's probably worth following him for a bit.
