    I registered just to rate this album, since that user score is a joke. This album absolutely demolishes. Imagine a Jesus Lizard album cranked to the absolutely extreme. 10/10 Album of the Year

    This is the heaviest rock and roll band this year. They make grunge sound modern. Each track is heavy hitting and pounds these huge riffs in your face. Productions slick, vocals are abrasive, and the sound of Metz are one in a few nowadays. All In All, Metz make a solid debut with this record. B

    The songs are pretty bland, though the production tries to disguise this. It's a testament to Alex Edkin's vocal abilities that he can make the shouty vocals catchy, but the music behind them just isn't very interesting. There aren't really any stand-out 'riffs', only a dark background chug. The review comparing this to a Jesus Lizard album is absolute rubbish: they let all of the elements of their music stand out, whereas this band try and disguise their blandness by mixing the music into a smoggy stew.… Collapse

    METZ has got great sound and interesting melody, but all songs look very simple without something extraordinary, without wow-things. It is ordinary, but good album, which doesn't open new doors and windows. They sit on warm place, which was found many years ago. But I'm sure, that there will be lot of people, who would die because of awesomeness of this band.

    Only when they tip the 'dumb' into an absurdism, in bouts of monotony or mindlessly devolved weirdness, do Metz sound anything like punk, or indeed art. Herein lies the retardation.
