  • Summary: The Los Angeles trio, making their recording debut with this self-titled release, have attracted a growing fanbase over the last two years via their live shows, which highlight their atmospheric, vaguely Stereolab-esque music. The group (who met via want ads in the L.A. Weekly) is led by singer/drummer Gena Olivier. Expand

It's mighty moody stuff for a debut, but it's carried off just right. [Nov 2004, p.100]
  3. Practically bursts with lusciously arranged, mesmerizing songs that marry traditional rock instruments with electronic adornments. [#7]
  4. A solid set of shadowy songs with driving melodies.
  5. Even if this was an instrumental album it'd be thoroughly charming.
  6. Poetic lyrics, tender guitars, tortured synths and Olivier's heavenly vocals. [29 Jan 2005, p.59]
  7. The threesome do manage to build up a decent head of steam on the motorik Just To Play, but Olivier's bored tones guarantee the feeling is fleeting. [Mar 2005, p.104]

Amazing first effort! And the growth on cd #2 is nothing short of genius. Each cut is a journey to and from somewhere you've always wanted to go. Expand
