  1. A highly successful debut release.
  2. Practically bursts with lusciously arranged, mesmerizing songs that marry traditional rock instruments with electronic adornments. [#7]

It's mighty moody stuff for a debut, but it's carried off just right. [Nov 2004, p.100]
  4. Even if this was an instrumental album it'd be thoroughly charming.
  5. A solid set of shadowy songs with driving melodies.
  6. It takes some bands several albums to appreciate the strength in subtlety. On their debut full-length, Midnight Movies may rely on it too much already.
  7. The threesome do manage to build up a decent head of steam on the motorik Just To Play, but Olivier's bored tones guarantee the feeling is fleeting. [Mar 2005, p.104]
