A quirky work that twists and turns all over the place, finally bringing all of their ideas together before sending them off into the far reaches of space.

The result is this consistently enjoyable, often terrific, frequently challenging 11 track, 51-minute aural rocket ship exploration quite rightly tagged “delirium” by its duo of frontmen.

At its best, it sounds like a long-lost Pink Floyd album actually meant to be synced to The Wizard of Oz (the album's title track and "Mr. Wright"); at its worst, it evokes old Tame Impala (the first movement of "Cricket And The Genie" and "Boomerang Baby"). Basically, it's a win-win situation either way.

It works, thanks in this case to an engagingly loopy clutch of lysergic psych-pop oddities created with Primus frontman Les Claypool.

It won’t knock off the top spots from anyone’s Best of 2016 lists, but like a nice piece of candy, it works well as an occasional treat.

It's only when Lennon takes over that the collaboration really works. [Jul 2016, p.94]

Though there are innumerable influences at work here, it is blessed with an offbeat and singular charm.

As a huge fan of psychedelic rock, I would say that this is one of the greatest works in the genre since The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. NotAs a huge fan of psychedelic rock, I would say that this is one of the greatest works in the genre since The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. Not many that albums that take me so far in the musical space. Kind of illustrates the Genius that was Syd Barrett. Claypool and Lennon is not just for the "connoisseur", but also for the neophytes that like hearing best of the genre type of albums. Far from my last listen! Expand
