    This is a typical Brad CD, which is great news for his fans. It is upbeat and funny, but it shows its soft side. This is a very better attempt than his previous, and it recaptures some of the things Brad is best at. Most of the songs are unique and can stand apart from the others on the record.

    More than just asserting his countryness, Moonshine in the Trunk seems like an effort to re-assert his Paisley-ness, to get back to the sort of songs that first got him commercial attention.
