  1. This is a rare and wonderful joy: a live album that even non-obsessives should embrace. [12 Nov 2005, p.45
  2. 80
With Oberst's frail and quavering but steel-lined voice high in the mix, it clarifies how exceptional his lyrics are, and what exactly they're about. [Jan 2006, p.104]
  3. 80
    15 thrilling highlights. [Jan/Feb 2006, p.93]
  4. No one can match Oberst for sheer ferocity. [#12, p.94]
  5. His band is tight, but Oberst sounds a bit tense and weighed down on heavily embellished tracks like "At the Bottom of Everything" and Lua B-side "True Blue".
  6. 70
Motion Sickness won't convert the uninitiated, but offers subtle craftsmanship and deft musicianship. [Feb 2006, p.95]
  7. Those familiar with Oberst's method... will find much to admire in the direct ranting on display. [Jan 2006, p.127]
  8. All the pros and cons of Bright Eyes present themselves here. [Feb/Mar 2006, p.110]
  9. Motion Sickness is an unnecessary document that is almost disquieting in its puppet-like manipulation of the facts. It's a live album masquerading as a bunch of inferior studio cuts.

i m not very fond of live albums, but i must say i like it a lot, its of course not like the real experience (i ve been to the one in zurich, which was nice, though the digital ash one in ulm was better...), but there are some nice songs, the feist cover is not his best, but funny. i love this cd. it includes some great bright eyes songs, live, which makes it that much better. the cover of feist's mushaboom and elliot smith's the biggest lie are amazing, and not available from any other album. Full Review »
