A little bit more like LD and Lost and Found. After hearing it a couple of times it really starts to grow on you. The chorus sections seem to be the most interesting parts of this album. The vocals seem to have a few changes in them compared to the older albums. On the downside the songs seem a little disjointed. The clean riffs in the songs seem a bit simplistic. While not as good as The A little bit more like LD and Lost and Found. After hearing it a couple of times it really starts to grow on you. It however will not earn to many new converts. Collapse

This is Mudvayne's best since EOATTC, and although Dead inside sucks, everything else seems like a throwback to the old! i have listened to nothing but this album since buying it. in fact, I'm listening to it right now, because i just can't get enough!

For a Mudvayne album, its very well put together, and a HUGE step in the right direction after "The New Game!"

They tried to do a summary of their whole career as mudvayne band. I can say they did an album at the same level that their previous albums. Maybe it is missing some of passion at the integrity of the album

Great album. Other than the rest of mudvayne discography, but still good. Guitars, vocals, drums and bass are amazing. Good composition.

  1. There are some surprises on Mudvayne, like a surprisingly Slash-like guitar solo on "Closer" and the death metal intro to the Slipknot-esque "I Can't Wait," but too much of it is more of the same from the band and its genre.
  2. Bringing mellower, more melodic counterpoints to a core of nu-metal bombast makes Mudvayne’s fifth studio album at times sound clumsy.
  3. Mudvayne has by and large returned to what it does best (or at least do frequently) on its new self-titled album.
