This gem leaves you wanting more. [21 Apr 2006, p.75]
  2. On Revenge, Murs and 9th Wonder wisely stick to the winning formula that paid such rich creative dividends on 3:16--strong song concepts, minimal guest appearances, a brisk running time, dope beats, and lyrics both smart and smartass.
  3. A good album that should please fans of any type of hip-hop.
  4. "Murray's Revenge" clocks in at a meager thirty-three minutes, which is simply too short for a full-length album.... Regardless, he is back, and better than ever.

A largely effective mix of grime and soul. [25 Mar 2006]
  6. Rolling Stone

Murs' sixth album sets his quick-tongued command over soul-flecked funk. [23 Mar 2006, p.67]
  7. Murray’s Revenge feels tired, the work of a mind either distracted or unwilling to commit to any one thing.

It is short, but like last year's Beauty and The Beat by Edan, brevity can also work in an albums favor. I like the new Ghostface Killah It is short, but like last year's Beauty and The Beat by Edan, brevity can also work in an albums favor. I like the new Ghostface Killah and T.I., but they can feel overwrought at times. I like the short sweetness of this album. P.S., depsite the lower score, this album is defintely on par with Murs 3:16. Along with Ghostface Killah, top rap album of the year so far. Expand
