Nov 22, 2010This is probably the best album Kanye West has ever put out. Rather than trying to put out another crappy, Autotune infested album like 808s and Heartbreak, he uses classical instrumental and & covers and creates tracks that turns this album into a superb work of art.
This album is also one of the most hilarious he's ever done. In some tracks, particularly Runaway, Kanye West starts dissing himself, toasting to "douche bags, **** scumbags, and jerk-offs". Even in the Bonus track, See Me Now, he mocks his VMA's interrupting of Taylor Swift, even featuring Beyonce.
All in all, this is probably the best album of the year.… Expand
Jun 9, 2013This is one of the best and most ambitious albums that I have heard in the past couple of years. Kanye West is the Michael Jackson of present times.
Kanye did a absolutely beautiful job promoting this album. From the Good Friday releases to the multiple big performances, this album had a lot of hype behind it. Its safe to say that this album came through big time.
The production is the main driving force behind this album. From the very triumphant production on "Power" to the guitar solo on "Devil in a New Dress" everything works very well. The only songs where the production wasn't all that innovative was on "Monster" and "Gorgeous".
The raps and features on this album are great. Pusha T on "Runaway" is a great contradiction to Kanye's raps. Nicki Minaj destroys the Monster verse. Jay-Z brings one of his best verses in recent memory on "So Appalled". Chris Rock on "Blame Game" is hilarious.
Minor problems I have are with the song "Gorgeous" and length of the songs. "Gorgeous" has a great message and raps behind it from Kanye, but the beat is a typically Kid Cudi beat and its safe to say that I am not a Kid Cudi fan. Songs like Hell of a Life and Runaway are great, yet they overstay their welcome. Both could be shortened by two or three minutes.
This is one of raps best albums in the past couple of years, and maybe the best production that we have ever heard on a rap album.… Expand
Jan 28, 2011It is simply appalling that this man continues to be so over credited for producing nothing but crap time and again. West must be the most over-rated "artist" the world has ever seen, thus his humongous ego being based on people who somehow find something good in one of the most talentless artists to ever record. "Fantasy," just like everything else he has recorded, sounds exactly the same as, well, everything else he has recorded, and it's just refried crap on digital. The man has made a career out of seemingly releasing the same terrible album over and over...and I wish someone would explain to me how this appeals to people...but then again, the country he is most popular in also kept "Macarena" at #1 for weeks. Kanye should be flipping burgers in new Mexico and should just never be seen or heard from again. This is THE most over-rated album of 2010. Oh look! Not one song of his on the radio...what a shock...… Expand
