The five-song platter never relents in its stunning and ceaseless need to drive listeners somewhere, anywhere.

The record keeps moving. Sometimes it moves with warmth, and sometimes with motorik rhythm.

When Cave breaks from intricate pattern-making and just rocks out, arena-style (as on the album-opener, "WUJ") the moment of release is all the more satisfying because of the long wait.

Despite a heavy focus on repetition and a stripped-down sound, Neverendless is seldom predictable, showing the talents of a group who know that sometimes less is more.
  5. CAVE have clearly done their homework in terms of musical influences, but I'd love to hear them spend less time droning in their footsteps of their forebears and more time actually crafting something new.

Cave never quite summons the lyrical beauty that Neu! was capable of, nor do they rock with the blithering, obliterating tension that Oneida brings to its hardest bangers, but once or twice during Neverendless, they do turn locomotive precision into something transformative.

Two nostalgia trips for the price of one. [Sep 2011, p.62]
