    The mild vulgarity and cute arrogance put to such an innocent melody [in "Fool Like Me"] is the brand of sass for which Cobra Starship are best known. Unfortunately, these traits are desperately lacking from the rest of Night Shades.

    It's almost as if Cobra Starship created Night Shades in fear of judgement. Too determined to meet mainstream's standards, Cobra Starship lostIt's almost as if Cobra Starship created Night Shades in fear of judgement. Too determined to meet mainstream's standards, Cobra Starship lost touch with their creative side in their worst album to date. They may be even hard to consider a band anymore due to the lack of instruments in Night Shades. The sad part is that there is a little potential in some of the almost "Vintage" pop sounds we hear in tracks like "Fool Like Me," where it seems like they were trying to make this album stand out from the others. Unfortunately, Cobra Starship fell through on that by seeking hype out of recruiting the "flavor of the week" pop stars such as Mac Miller, and then forgetting to actually write a song.… Expand
