A lovely collection full of ethereal evocations of the past. [Feb 2016, p.60]

She delivers twisted, nostalgic jazz, flanked by her Spanish husband's eerie Portuguese guitar.... Lovely. [Mar 2016, p.98]

This is the work of a star-crossed original in full flow. [Mar 2016, p.73]

This music is uncharted, revelatory, blossoming, and all the more so, because somehow it feels like it might be to Foster as well.

With their dark fidelity and overly spacious arrangements, these new meditations feel almost as if they were unearthed from some distant vault of preserved wax cylinders rather than re-recorded.

Although there’s nothing ostensibly new about this album, the overall feel and vibe running throughout does at least give a feeling of overall unity. These songs have been given a uniquely peaceful freedom.

As her voice took centre stage on the original recordings too, the effect of stripping away almost everything else isn't that radical. Still, for anyone unfamiliar with Foster's work, this represents an excellent starting point. [Mar 2016, p.110]
