Courtney and -thus Hole- are one of the most underrated stories in rock music. A great album all the way. And that title track NB... What a powerfull intro... Highly recommended.

How did the band that made the incomparable "live through this" or the east coast jem "celebrity skin" and "pretty on the inside " create this awful failure of over produced dated 00's radio rock? Courtney is an awful shell of herself as ger voice reaches unlistenable new lows. I'm genuinely disappointed by everything here frm the poor song writing or forgettable rifts. I genuinely hate this.

Courtney Love is such an underrated singer and songwritter, she deserves a lot more credit and this album proves that

I think it would've been easier to enjoy this album as a Courtney Love record instead of a Hole one. It's a step up from America's Sweetheart but a step down from all of Hole's albums

Unfortunately, the album has a strange feeling of being unfinished and unpolished. Like America's Sweetheart, the production is too slick and the songs feel like they're being reworked so pieces don't

Unfortunately, the album has a strange feeling of being unfinished and unpolished. Like America's Sweetheart, the production is too slick and the songs feel like they're being reworked so pieces don't always fit together in a way that flows well. I'm also not a fan of the pop-punk songs like "Loser Dust" and "Skinny Little **** They just don't do it for me. I've heard that kind of song too many times and they don't bring anything to the table

Overall, it has some really cool moments, like the hook that repeats over a bridge in "Samantha" which gives me chills to hear. There are some great melodies too.

Courtney Love made a mistake attempting to live up to her band's name with this release. It should be under her own moniker and tossed into the archives along with America's Sweetheart.

The hands of Perry, Beinhorn, Larkin and even Corgan aren't enough to revive this album and aggrandize it to the status it should hold. Love (now pleasantly sounding quite Marianne Faithfull like)

Love (now pleasantly sounding quite Marianne Faithfull like) DOES however remain a wordsmith in her songwriting. This miraculously manages to act as an adhesive in Nobody's Daughter's weakest tracks.

I must say it's wonderful to hear that she can still howl like a banshee.

Get the Celebrity Skin line-up involved or use your own name.

Supreme songs are Nobody's Daughter and For Once In Your Life.

It's a real shame when bad albums happen to good bands. Courtney Love fires her original band members, hires a new crew and expects the same magic from the 90s? Epic fail.

This record is beyond brilliant. The best album of 2010. It's raw, powerful and obviously Courtney Love has still got it. You can tell in every one of these songs. Absolutely spellbinding and beautiful. Their best work since 1994's "Live Through This."

Evey time I hear her sing, a vision of a donkey comes to my mind. Her voice is sounding like a very pained donkey's whinny. I hope it's her last album. How embarrassing!

I tried my best to listen to the whole cd but i couldn't. it's a disaster. what happened to this band. they had "Celebrity Skin" but now with "Nobody's Daughter" i think it's end of their career.

The album could've been longer, but the material is solid. Stand outs are "Nobody's Daughter", "Honey", "Pacific Coast Highway" and "How Dirty Girls Get Clean".

Brilliant record. A firey, passionate, triumphant return for Love. Some of the most thrilling radio rock and some of the most heartbreaking ballads I've heard in years. It can't touch Live Through This, but I think she is lyrically at her peak; and WHAT A PEAK. All the songs are well-written, and produced to perfection. Simply a wonderful record, well done!

Very uneven album. Some great tracks samantha, pch, honey and some ur...letter to god? Still i like it as it sounds like nothing else out there, doesn't pander and is a raw rocky jaunt.....reviews I have read have been extremely harsh and mostly seemed aimed at courtney's public persona, not the music.

  1. The emotion fueling her pretense is cathartic nevertheless.
  2. Nobody's Daughter recalls the highlights of the band's critically acclaimed 1994 album, "Live Through This," and shows that, as a band, Hole is not one bit damaged.
  3. While Love remains as ferocious as ever, the bleak, samey production here doesn't always rise to meet her.
