This is a singular album, it's a mix of the most beautiful side of Mount Eerie and his aggressive face; somehow, is mixed so good that you'll enjoy the album the first time you listen to it.

Ocean Roar exists deep in extreme nature, a journey's end of madness, memory and Euphoria. [Nov 2012, p.95]

The method with which Elverum captures and articulates these feelings is what makes his work so powerful--literally inserting his calm demeanor, his pleasant croon, in between insurmountable, impenetrable volume.

Ultimately, Ocean Roar works as a continuation of the feelings that were so deeply and richly explored/mined on Clear Moon.
