  • Summary: This third album for the Jersey City rockers (who come across a bit like an emo Tenacious D) was produced by Steve Albini.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 7 out of 8
  2. Negative: 0 out of 8
  1. A glorious noise in which wailing guitars, teeth-rattling drums and Ralph Cuseglio's bug-eyed hollering leave no place for pretense.
  2. Now, this is a pretty straightforward album, so the possibilities do exhaust themselves somewhat by the end; there's only so much that can be done with this sort of visceral, no-frills rock.
  3. One of the year's best knock-down-drag-out rock 'n' roll records.
  4. Spin

Rye Coalition send up a prayer for that emo addict who's done with Rainer Maria but keeps AC/DC in the closet. [Apr 2002, p.122]

A well-crafted ode to cock rock, minus the cliches. [May 2002, p.98]
  6. The band is never so consumed by brainy showmanship that they forget to rock -- this album kicks harder in places than Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath ever did, or The Strokes ever will.
  7. Throughout this collection, Rye Coalition shamlessly worships at the altar of Kiss, Grand Funk Railroad, and Spinal Tap via weathered, punk-inspired chord progressions, muddy bass lines, lead-footed drum patterns, and hammer-handed guitar riffs that will shake, rattle, and roll hockey arenas until the end of time.
