    Anyone who was ever a fan of Audio Slave is a slave to the radio..."Turn on the Radio, naw fuck it...turn it off" The Nightwatchman is awesome, relaxing yet disturbing music, Not the strongest singer but his lyrics are Syd Barrett-esque with their rhyming and to the point behaviours. Short sweet and to the point, not drawn out like some over artistic poet which pollutes our air ways these days (emo anyone?) Our generations Johnny Cash? Bob Dylan? Only time will tell. The Nightwatchman has arrived, and if you don't appreciate it, you yourself are an "Audio Slave"… Expand

    i'm a big morello fan, and a fan of all the infuences i've heard mentioned about this album (cash, dylan, springsteen...) but the lyrics are just plain awful.

    People. who say this music suck must the mental capability of a fucking flea b/c this stuff is good and has message behind its a lot like Bob Dylan back 60's in my opinion we need this type of music back now more than ever.

    This is an excellent album. 11 of the 13 songs are really solid, and are worthy of replaying over and over again. The only two that aren't (Maximum Firepower and Union Song aren't complete duds though). The album ends very strong with his best two songs The Dark Clouds Above and Until the End both have catchy riffs. The opener, California's Dark is a great opener setting the tone for the rest of the album. The Road I Must Travel is another catchy tune and it gets better as it progresses. His voice is surprisingly good (very Johnny Cash-ish) and his lyrics are top notch. Anyone who is into acoustic albums would love this. A+… Expand

    Lyrics: Bad Guitar: Sloppy Vocals: Oh my god! Come back Chris for heaven's sake! It doesn't have a single one of the three pilars of a good album. I'm a Tom Morello fan but this is possibly the worst sounding album I've ever heard. I love to stack my itunes with as much music as possible just for the sake of having it on file but this I might just have to discard, yes, it's that bad. If you like Rage or Audioslave, then keep listening because this is a dead end (nomatter what your into)… Expand

    Morello has a good voice, and his turn to Dylanesque political folk is a somewhat shocking turn after a decade of hip-hop-inflected metal. Some of the lyrics border on cliche, but generally they convey Morello's frustrations with clear, original sentiment.

    I love Tom Morello's work with Rage Against the Machine, but The Nightwatchman falls a little short for me. As expected, the guitar mechanics are stellar, but the vocals...well, there's something missing there. Sounds like Dylan without the eccentricity or poetic talent. Nice try by an otherwise great musician, though.

    This album makes me scratch my head in confusion as to why Tom Morello would make this. Most of the album is trash and I only liked 2 tracks on the album. Its just another generic (mostly) acoustic album, Nothing special about it besides the fact that the artist behind it is Tom Morello.
