  • Summary: The country singer follows her disappointing sophomore set with this third album, which includes multiple co-writes with John Rich (of Big & Rich).

  1. This is as good as it gets right now; it'll be the country album to beat in 2007.
  2. Not as perfect as her 2004 debut, but a step up from its follow-up. [18 May 2007, p.66]
  3. Rather than moving boldly forward, she ends up holding her ground.
  4. 60
If it's a little predictable, it's still easy on the ears. [Jul 2007, p.127]
  5. 60
It's better written than her previous CDs... But this new old style is far less suited to her talents. [Jun 2007, p.110]
  6. Her songs and the ways in which she works them frequently lack distinction, and though an artist whose appeal is rough edges doesn't need to be sophisticated to be effective, neither should she be quite so ordinary.

Although this album differs from Gretchens first two albums, it has great country roots. You can really feel Gretchen's emotions in the songs.

Her first album was very promising, but now she's become a one trick pony. Only minor variations lyrically from previous songs. And unfortunately, she gives these rockers too much bluster. She can still elevate the ballads with her sensitive vocals, though. Expand

She lost track of what got her there. The engineering and general feel of this album is a total disaster. The songs and arrangements were below second rate. To say I was dissapointed, would be the kindest thing I could say. This lady has " Monster Talent " it looks like someone has let her down --- Big Time. That was $15 and a half hour of my time, I'll never see again. Expand
