Sounding this simple is not always easy and for fans of pop with depth, Pete & The Pirates are a treat. [Jun 2011, p.100]

With these perfect nuggets of hormonal pop, Pete & The Pirates may not be courageous or sophisticated but they will make you want to jump around the room --even when you're empathising with Sanders' woes.

One Thousand Pictures is pop in a tar-pit--black and sticky, but wonderfully pure at heart.

The album's coda lacks snap--as if 13 tracks was too big an ask--and while increased cynicism lends One Thousand Pictures extra weight, it is not a catch-all. Still, here be treasure... and a little sand.

The heavier, dirtier mood suits these Pirates--the spirit of 1979 burns bright.

Motorbike, United, Half moon Street, Washing Powder, Winter 1, Little Gun, Cold Black Kitty, Come to the bar, Blood gets thin, Can't fish they are all potential singles. it's amazing how easy is for them to create perfect pop songs. I wish you all the best Pirates, you definitely deserve it
