not as good as it should of been, but still a good listen, like the movie in many ways.

the sound score totally captures the essence of the 70s music keepin in mind that the movie is being made in 2000. So for all the rock fans(a generic term i suppose) the OST is a must buy. Plus the movie is a 4 out of 5 star so dont forgot to watch dat incase...!

america was a winning choice, but why not tangerine? several songs from the film are omitted and the ost suffers. i guess if you like the same 70s music as cameron crowe you would like this. but i found it very uneven.

  1. The soundtrack was clearly as much a labor of love as the film...
  2. Every track is at least fleetingly familiar, often having that feeling of the B-side that you haven't heard in years.... Still, adding a few hits wouldn't have hurt the soundtrack's shot at longevity...
  3. Most soundtracks are compilations of the obvious... Almost Famous is the grand exception, avoiding easy choices while meticulously re-creating the feeling of being young, awkward, and in love with music in the early '70s.
