Oui, Oui isn't living in the past, it's using the past to address the present, which gives some soul to these nifty little songs, and turns this album into another mini latter-day gem from the Nutty Boys.

The emphaiss here is on standalone songs, with each bandmember apparently harking back to teenage memories. [Dec 2012, p.73]

Yes, it lacks the ambition of Norton Folgate... but compensates with pop nous. [Dec 2012, p.89]

  5. Should you be struck by a nostalgic mood yourself, Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da is a Madness album like they used to make 'em.

This album features a definite return of 'Nutty' to the Madness sound, who have once again welcomed 60's influences with 'My Girl 2's Organ driven mod beat, and 'Misery's Bluebeat trumpet driving ska feel. The album brims with wisdom and maturity in lyric, although the musicianship and production has something of a childlike quality. Full Review »
