    Most contemporary country musicians steadfastly bypass the dark territory Krauss and her mates mine here, missing out on the deep emotion lurking within it. The loss is theirs.

    Alison Krauss and her colleagues in Union Station are all consummate professionals and their music is impeccable. Alison’s gorgeous voice could never be mistaken for anyone else’s. I would have liked to hear more of Alison’s fiddle playing (which Mairead Nesbitt, the dynamic fiddler of Celtic Woman, has identified as a major influence on her own playing) than I hear on this otherwise world class album. And one of my major wishes for the future is to hear Alison and Union Station join forces with Orla Fallon, formerly of Celtic Woman, whose gentle voice and elegant harp playing would beautifully complement Alison’s singing and fiddling and the picking of Jerry, Ron, Dan and Barry. Orla left Celtic Woman and traveled to Nashville to explore the shared heritage of Celtic and bluegrass music. Anyone who doubts that Alison and Orla are kindred spirits or that bluegrass and Celtic music are related should listen to both ladies’ respective covers of Sarah Siskind’s lovely “Simple Love.”… Expand

    A long overdue and real stunning cd. They venture into down tempo minor chords where others dare tread and the result grabs you. As always, impeccable production and acoustic performances. One of their best.… Expand

    Alison is the greatest singer of Bluegrass that exists today. I pride myself as being her #1 fan, I adore her and her voice. Her "Paper Airplanes" CD was sadly a big disappointment.
